Rochester man charged with DUI, using electronic device, following crash

ROCHESTER - A local man faces charges of driving under the influence and using a mobile electronic device after he rolled his pickup truck on Old Dover Road near Briar Ridge Estates.

According to police Antoneil Banton, 35, of Central Avenue was heading north on Old Dover Road around 1 a.m. Satruday when he crossed the center line, went off the shoulder and then pulled back into the northbound lane before rolling over and coming to rest on the side of the road.

When police arrived, Banton was out of the truck, an F-150, and talking to passersby who'd stopped to help.

Banton was taken to Frisbie Memorial Hospital to be evaluated for injuries. Police closed Old Dover Road near Briar Ridge for a short time after the accident.

Banton was arrested for DUI and using a mobile electronic device while driving. He was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 21 at the 7th Circuit District Court in Rochester.
