Rochester man arrested in connection with thefts in Dover; NH police recover stolen goods


DOVER - Police made an arrest in a rash of thefts from parked vehicles on Sunday in the Spruce Lane neighborhood.

Michael Hilber, 28, of 43 Stillwater Circle, Rochester, has been charged with two counts of theft, both misdemeanor level offenses.

Additionally, Hilber was charged with possession of a controlled drug, also a misdemeanor.

Hiber was arrested after police responded to Spruce Lane to investigate a report of suspicious activity. Police said Hilber fled the scene and was quickly located with the assistance of the Rochester Police K9 unit.

His bail was set at $2,500 personal recognizance and he will be arraigned on Dec. 15 in Dover District Court.

Police have recovered a number of stolen items and are urging people who have recently had items stolen from vehicles to contact them at 603-742-4646.
