Road rage incident in Candia features flashlight, construction equipment
CANDIA - Two men were arrested Monday after a road rage incident involving construction tools and a flashlight.
State police were called to the scene on Route 101 at about 4 p.m.
An abrupt lane change led to the incident, according to police.
While Matthew Anderson, 40 of Manchester, and David Bell, 60 of Jaffrey, were pulling over, Bell's vehicle hit Anderson's.
Anderson used a flashlight to hit Bell in the head and groin area in the first altercation before they split up.
Bell then grabbed an angle grinder from his car and hit Anderson in the head and midsection.
A resulting cut on his head led to Bell being transported to the Elliott Hospital by the Candia Fire Department.
Anderson refused medical attention at the scene.
Both men were charged with second-degree assault, reckless conduct, and disorderly conduct.
Additional charges may be forthcoming.
This incident remains under investigation.
