Road closures beginning at noon ahead of Manchester race
MANCHESTER — Driving and parking in downtown Manchester will be affected by Thursday's Cigna 5K road race.
Officials in Manchester will begin shutting down access to some downtown roads in advance of the race's 6:20 p.m. start time. Thousands of runners are expected to take part in the event.
Below is a schedule of the road closures.
12 p.m. - Merrimack Street will be shut down between Elm Street and Chestnut Street.
3 p.m. - Elm Street will be shut down between Stark Street and Mechanic Street.
6 p.m. - Elm Street will be closed from Lave Avenue to Carpenter Street, along with Canal Street and River Road from Ready Street to Granite Street.
Other closures in the area will occur as the race progresses. The Amoskeag Bridge and the Granite Street Bridge will also close during the race.
