Retired NH state senator charged with DUI after early August crash

DERRY — Jim Rausch, a former state senator, was arrested and charged with DUI.

Police responded to a car crash on Island Pond Road at about 10:30 on Aug. 6. Rausch, 69, was found near the crashed car and police said he exhibited signs of intoxication, according to the Union Leader.

The former Senator announced his retirement in 2014. He was elected in 2010 and again in 2012 to represent Hampstead, Windham and Derry

A court date has been set for Rausch of Oct. 27 at the Derry District Court.
