DERRY - The results are in and some residents of Derry scored a huge victory on Tuesday.
In a record-setting turnout for an election, Derry residents voted to overturn the town council's budget in the special election.
The vote was teh culmination of a long, hard fought battle on both sides.
This past spring, the majority of the Town Council voted for massive budget cuts to lower taxes. It sparked outrage among some residents, and after gathering hundreds of signatures and taking the town to court, they won the right to have the people vote on the budget.
Among those items, the closure of one of the town's fire station. That cut has now been overtuned.
