Residents raise concerns about noisy helicopters in Portsmouth
PORTSMOUTH- Some people in Portsmouth have had enough with the noise from helicopters that fly over their neighborhoods. A few residents took their concerns to the city council last night.
According to city councilor Eric Spear, a number of residents voiced their concerns about the noise. He says what councilors discussed last night has nothing to do with noise, but instead where helicopters are allowed to land and take off.
He says unfortunately, there's nothing they city can do.
"The helicopters people are experiencing right now, they're complaining about take off and land in the airport district in Portsmouth we don't have any authority to regulate the airport district," Spear said.
The city plans to meet with the FAA to discuss these noise concerns.
