Rescue party carries injured hiker to safety in Lincoln

LINCOLN (AP) - Authorities say a rescue party has carried an injured hiker to safety from a trail at Franconia Notch State Park.

Forty-one-year-old Lisa Prefontaine of Abington, Mass., was hiking with family members around 12:20 p.m. Sunday when she slipped and fell while descending the Lonesome Lake Trail. A hiker who was not with their group called for help.

Conservation Officers from the state Fish and Game Department and volunteers from the Pemigewasset Valley Search and Rescue Team carried Prefontaine down.

Authorities say Prefontaine suffered a non-life-threatening leg injury.
