Reports: Kurdish protester killed during clashes

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) Turkish news agencies say that a Kurdish protester has been killed during clashes with police, amid Europe-wide demonstrations seeking help for Kurds fighting the Islamic State group.
The private Dogan news agency says the 25-year-old protester was killed Tuesday in the town of Varto from gunfire. The state-run Anadolu Agency reported that he was hit by a gas canister. The pro-Kurdish Firat news agency also reported the death.
Kurds demonstrated Tuesday in cities and towns around Turkey and Europe against the Islamic State group's advance on a town on the Syrian-Turkish border.
The activists say Turkey isn't doing enough to stop the extremists, and are demanding more help for the besieged Kurdish forces in the Syrian town of Kobani.
