Report of DCF role in 'Baby Doe' death to be released Wednesday

BOSTON, Mass., - A report on whether or not the Department of Children and Families had any role in Baby Bella’s death is set to be released Wednesday.

According to 7 News, Gov. Charlie Baker ordered the Office of the Child Advocate, a state agency watchdog, to conduct an investigation and report within 30 days.

Bella was known for months as ‘Baby Bella’ after her body was found in a trash bag on Deer Island in June.

After a massive search operation by the Mass. State Police, she was identified in September as Bella Bond from Dorcester.

Her mother, Rachelle Bond, and her mother’s boyfriend, Michael McCarthy, have been charged in connection to her death.
