NEW DURHAM - Town selectmen are meeting Monday night with the first item on the agenda regarding the court decision to reinstate Shawn Bernier as police chief.
Last week, a court ruling found that Chief Bernier was fired from his job in July 2015 "without cause," where many residents believe he was wrongfully terminated.
The Board of Selectmen are to meet at 7 p.m., and expect that the meeting will have a good attendance where there will be an opportunity to talk to residents and also get the current cost for legal fees as well as the plan to settle out the remaining complaints against the town including wage claim, conflict of interest, wrongful termination and defamation of character.
All of these issues are still scheduled for a trial in September.
