CONCORD – Samantha Hawkins, an emergency nurse that specializes in sexual assaults at Concord Hospital, was the first witness to testify after Thursday’s lunch break at the Concord Courthouse.
Hawkins testified that the alleged victim was examined at the hospital days after the night prosecutors claim Owen Labrie raped the then 15-year-old.
Hawkins also testified the alleged victim said Labrie bit her on the chest and penetrated her and that she was experiencing pain and discomfort.
When questioned by the prosecutor, Hawkins said the teenage girl told her some of the events between the two were consensual before things escalated.
Dr. Robert Rix was also called to testify as he performed an internal examine on the girl after she met with Hawkins.
Rix testified he followed protocol of Concord Hospital and tested the minor for STDs and alerted authorities.
