Red Cross relocates 2 adults and a dog displaced by 2-alarm Laconia fire

LACONIA — The American Red Cross is helping two adults and a dog who were displaced by a home fire at 70 Winnisquam Ave.

The fire was called in at 11:46 a.m. and when first responders got there, it had already engulfed the first floor.

The two-alarm fire had also spread to both neighboring homes, one caught on fire, and the other with heavily melting siding.

No one was injured in the fire.

The Red Cross Disaster Action Team volunteers met with the residents and and have ensured a safe place to sleep, food clothing, and other essentials.

They plan to stay in contact with the family, and provide referrals over the next few days as they work towards recovery.

The Red Cross recommended families check on smoke alarms, or call the Red Cross for a free installation.
