SOMERSWORTH — The Government Operations Committee plans to come up with three recommendations for what to do with the toppled 10 Commandments monument outside of Somersworth City Hall.

The monument has been on city land for nearly 60 years, but complaints have been made on whether the placement of the monument violates the separation between church and state.

"I believe that the monument belongs back in it's original spot. It's a piece of history," said Dana Hilliard, Mayor of Somersworth.

The committee will meet on Monday at 3:30 p.m. The recommendations will be brought to the full City Council next Tuesday night for a vote.
