RECALL: Whole Foods calls back Maytag Blue Cheese after listeria found in samples

CONCORD - Whole Foods and other grocery stores nationwide are recalling Maytag Blue Cheese after listeria was discovered in some product samples.

Testing done in Iowa showed listeria in two lots, and the Maytag Dairy Farms voluntarily suspended production and distribution.

The cheese being recalled was sold in various weights reading “Maytag Blue Raw Milk," “Maytag Blue” or “Maytag Iowa Blue Cheese."

The PLU numbers begin with 293308 and have “sell-by” dates labeled 1/20/2016 through 3/21/16, according to the FDA.

There have been no reports of illness according to Whole Foods.
