RECALL: L.L. Bean kids water bottles tested positive for lead contamination

FREEPORT, Maine — L.L. Bean is recalling its line of Kid’s Insulated Water Bottles for possible lead contamination.

The company said that routine testing by the manufacturer resulted in a positive reading for the presence of lead on the outside bottom of the bottle.

The product’s item ID is 297684.

"All of us at L.L. Bean are firmly committed to providing our customers with the best products and service," Vice President of Customer Satisfaction Raina Maxwell stated in a release. "We regret any inconvenience this has caused; however, your child's safety is most important to us.

Customers are urged to stop using the bottles immediately and return them for a refund.
