HAMPTON — The Explore the Ocean World LLC Oceanarium will now be home to a rare blue lobster thanks to a donation by a Portsmouth boat captain.
Capt. Ben Ricker of Portsmouth hauled in a rare blue lobster just three miles east of Rye Harbor last week, which he donated to the Oceanarium, the Seacoastonline reported.
Ellen Goethel, biologist and curator for the Oceanarium, told The Associated Press that just one in every 10 million lobsters are blue. She says the lobster will visit schools around New England.
