Purchaser of NH Hike Safe Card rescued on trail for 1st time
ALBANY - Deborah Bloomer purchased her Hike Safe Card before she hiked Mt. Chocorua on Sunday, and it is a good thing she did.
Bloomer, of Newmarket, was rescued by N.H. Fish and Game conservation officers after she injured her ankle while descending the summit.
She is the first purchaser of the Hike Safe Card to be rescued in the state.
The Hike Safe Card is a voluntary card that supports search and rescue efforts in NH.
According to the NH Fish and Game Department's Facebook page, members of the Conway, Madison and Tamworth fire departments, US Forest Service and Mountain Rescue Service all helped her.
