Pup and a cut: Lucky's Barbershop partners with SPCA for 1st adoption day in Concord

CONCORD — What makes a great haircut the best haircut? Puppies, of course.

Lucky's Barbershop and Shave Parlor and the Pope Memorial SPCA are teaming up for the first annual Lucky's Barbershop Adoption Day on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

"As animal lovers and loving guardians of shelter animals ourselves, we recognize and appreciate the noble work that Pope Memorial SPCA does," Lucky's owner Joshua Craggy said. "We want to do whatever we can to help out."

The event will raise money and awareness for Concord's Pope Memorial SPCA and will be held at Lucky's Barbershop.

"Many animal lovers and potential pet owners aren't aware of the merits of making a local shelter or rescue group their first stop when in search of a new furry family member, Craggy said. "We'd love to change that."

The event features a raffle, a food truck, and "four-legged friend" goodie bags. People who turn out will also be able to meet local shelter animals and take family pet pictures.

Lucky's is donating all the proceeds to the Pope Memorial SPCA.
