CHICHESTER — An investigation is underway after several unusual letters surfaced that warn about violence against two Chichester police officers.
On Sunday, two letters were found taped to the doors of two churches on Main Street in Chichester, police said.
The letters suggest a woman is planning to kill two Chichester officers and reference recent mass shootings in San Bernadino, California and Orlando, Florida.
Similar letters were found posted in public places in Epsom, police told NH1 News.
A postcard was sent to a local store also referencing police violence. Police have followed up with the woman named in the letter and said they feel she not a threat.
Chichester's police chief took to Facebook to inform the public and to encourage anyone with information to come forward.
The County Attorney's Office is involved in the investigation.
