Principal announces retirement after 28 years at Moharimet Elementary School

MADBURY - The principal of Moharimet Elementary School is set to retire after this upcoming school year.

Dennis Harrington has been the principal of the elementary school for the past 28 years. He will inform the school board formally of his intent to retire in October.

Harrington sent the following farewell letter to the community.

Dear Families,

In October I will inform the school board formally of my intent to retire at the end of the upcoming school year in June. It has not been an easy decision for me because an important part of who I am has been my role serving as principal of this wonder-filled school, the children, the staff and all of you.

Twenty-eight years will have passed since Moharimet opened its doors to students and families in this community. It is time for me to depart and leave Moharimet in the hands of a very capable administrative team. It has been a pleasure to serve all of you and most importantly your children. I have always tried to give every ounce of energy and thoughtfulness to my work and have loved most every minute of my days here. May the community spirit we have created here together live on. I look forward to making the 2016-17 school year a productive and exciting one for children and all of you.

Dennis Harrington, Principal
