Primary Bank becomes 1st new bank to open in NH in 7 years


BEDFORD - The new Primary Bank held a ribbon cutting in Bedford on Friday. with many N.H. politicians on hand for the big unveiling including Gov. Hassan and Sens. Jeanne Shaheen and Kelly Ayotte.

The event was hailed as an economic milestone. Primary Bank is the first new bank in the state in seven years, and just the second state-chartered bank to be granted approval by the FDIC since 2010.

The commercial community bank took years to assemble investors and meet all of the FDIC and State Banking Department regulations before getting to Friday's ribbon cutting.

The single branch bank, at the intersection of Route 101 and Wallace Road, will offer full-service commercial and consumer banking services when it officially opens for business on Monday.
