President Trump to nominate NH businessman Rich Ashooh for Commerce position
WASHINGTON D.C — President Trump intends to nominate Richard Ashooh of New Hampshire to be an Assistant Secretary of Commerce, Export Administration.
Perspective nominee Richard Ashooh's list of credentials includes serving over two decades as a senior executive in the aerospace industry. He focused primarily on ensuring successful programs that protect the U.S. and allied warfighters, especially in the electronic warfare space.
Earlier in his career Ashooh served as a former professional staff member for the U.S. Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs, with a concentration on federal procurement policies.
Ashooh would be leaving his position as the director of economic partnerships in the University System of New Hampshire.
In 2016, Ashooh lost the 1st Congressional District GOP nomination to incumbent Frank Guinta.
