Preparing meals in advance as important as exercising

When it comes to books, there’s a pretty good chance I might be a hoarder. The book shelves are the one thing that people tend to notice when they visit, and not just because of the words on the spines. There are books lined up as one would conventionally put them on the shelves, but those are for the most part hidden behind the books that have piled up in front of them. Someday, I tell myself, I will have read all of them, but lately, it seems I’m reading less and less. Like most of you, I’m a busy person, so much so that at times I forget to take time to do the things I enjoy, like reading. Other times, I cut out the things I should be doing. Going to the gym would be one of those things that will get pushed aside. Another is preparing meals in advance, which can be as detrimental to your health as skipping the gym. A normal day for me means I’m out of the house for one, and more often than not, two meals a day, so in an ideal world, I’d have a never-ending supply of salads, wraps and various forms of proteins ready to take with me. This week, thanks largely to my better half, I did have a lot ready-to-go meals that I could throw into my cooler and take with me. There are two benefits to making the time to prepare your meals in advance – one would be for your health; the other, for the health of your wallet. If you’re out and about, and find yourself in need of sustenance, what are you going to do? You’re not going to let yourself stay hungry. You’re going to buy yourself something to eat, which ends up being more expensive than buying food and preparing it yourself. But chances are also good you’re going to buy something that doesn’t fit your healthy lifestyle. Yes or no, when you get really, really hungry, you always think about sinking your teeth into a fresh salad. If you answered yes, you are a special kind of person.
