LACONIA - We're just days away from the beginning of the 92nd Motorcycle Week.
Hundreds of vendors are set to arrive soon, and state revenue is expected to sky rocket.
But prep work is already underway.
“It’ll take the whole, whole week to set up these decks for the T-shirt vendors, and they go the whole length." said Tom Morell, who has been building T-shirt decks at Weirs Beach for years. "Every house gets a deck so there’s hundreds of feet of it, and it’s pretty taxing. At the end of it, we have to come and take it all back down,”
Trucks have been rolling in since Sunday, and vendors have already started dropping off supplies.
“Oh yeah, they’re heavy and we need about four or five guys to push them up," Bob Weston, one of the lead installers in charge of pitching vendor’s tents, said. "The bigger the tent, the heavier they are."
Weston’s group is just getting started, pitching 20 tents per day, up and down to accommodate the soon-to-be crowds.
Business owners are also prepping.
One business told NH1 News that she’s paid her employees in advance as they work hard this week making thousands of pizza boxes and unpacking pounds of cheese and sauce.
“We all feel it at the end of it - that’s for sure," said Melody York, Manager of the Tower Hill Tavern. "But I guess it’s well worth it - keeps the business coming.”
