Potential bus route could take passengers from Lakes Region to Concord

FRANKLIN — Transportation officials in New England are going to begin a study to determine if there are enough people in Lakes Region cities and towns to pay for transit buses

These buses would run between Franklin and Concord along Route 3, the Union Leader reported..

The Winnipesaukee Transit System has buses that travel between Laconia, Belmont, Tilton and Franklin during the week but Jeff Hayes, executive director of the Lakes Region Planning Commission, told the paper that, "If this Franklin to Concord transit system happens, someone could get on a bus in Laconia and ride to Concord."

The commission hopes to have the study done before the end of this year.
