Portsmouth voters elect new police commissioners, mayor
PORTSMOUTH - Portsmouth voters headed to the polls Tuesday to choose new city leaders, naming Jack Blalock as mayor-elect and two new members of the Portsmouth Police Commission.
Many residents have been outspoken about their frustrations with the police commission in recent controversies; including the separation agreement with outgoing Police Chief Stephen DuBois, and the handling of the Geraldine Webber Estate case.
Joe Plaia and Joe Onosko both won the majority of the votes in all five wards.
Onosko replaces Wayne Lehman who was holding the position on an interim status. He will be sworn in and begin a two-year term immediately.
