Portsmouth teacher fighting Trump costume punishment
PORTSMOUTH- A Portsmouth teacher who dressed as now president-elect Donald Trump on Halloween will go through her union to fight penalties set by school administrators following her Halloween stunt mocking the now president-elect Donald Trump.
Kara Kelley, a teacher at Portsmouth High School, is facing a 5-day suspension and regular meetings with school staff to help her run her classroom.
According to an online video posted at seacoastonline, Kelley said, "I'm sorry that this all went down the way it did," and "I can't wait to get back in the classroom and we get back on with the business of math and, uh, just having a good time and, you know, getting some learning done."
According to the online report, Kelley had been banned from school property and needed permission to vote in the election Tuesday.
