Portsmouth School Board updates sexual harassment policy

PORTSMOUTH - The Portsmouth School Board has updated its sexual harassment policy.

Assistant City Attorney Kathleen Dwyer said the update was a total rewrite from the former policy, which hadn't been updated since 2003. In the new policy there were some minor language changes in order to make it more centered towards sexual harassment, something that may have been confusing to some in the former policy.

This comes weeks after a federal report was published about a sexual harassment investigation into Portsmouth High School Latin teacher, Joe Arnstein. Dwyer said the School Board had been working on the revision for some time and it was not related to the report.
