Portsmouth's Sarah Mildred Long Bridge passes inspection

NH1.com

PORTSMOUTH — Hoyle, Tanner & Associates Inc. recently inspected the Sarah Mildred Long bridge in Portsmouth, confirming that no additional repairs are necessary despite the bridge's deterioration.

The bridge is scheduled to close on Nov. 1 with the new bridge opening for traffic in September 2017 with plans for its completion by June 2018, Seacoastonline.com reported.

Inspectors confirmed that barriers installed on the bridge direct traffic from the compromised parts of the bridge, but recommend that bridge officials monitor deteriorated parts of the bridge and fix them if necessary.
