Portsmouth's Beara Irish Brewing Co. responds to mass shootings with 'Unity' beer
PORTSMOUTH — After the numerous deadly mass shootings so far this summer, Beara Irish Brewing Co., out of Portsmouth, has launched its new beer - Unity.
"Our hearts go out to the families of the victims of the recent senseless violence in the US and abroad. We need to unify as human beings and this is our small contribution toward the larger goal. Join us as we release "Unity" - a smoked IPA blessed with Amarillo and Citra hops," Beara Brewing company wrote on their Facebook page.
For every pint sold, 25 percent of the proceeds will go to charities set up to help the 49 families who lost loved ones in the Orlando nightclub shooting as well as the families of the nine police officers who were killed in Dallas, according to NHPR.
This is a one time batch, but the company plans to set up a fund each year.
