Portsmouth Rotary Club offering remaining Christmas trees for free

The Associated Press

PORTSMOUTH (AP) - The Portsmouth Rotary Club is giving away free Christmas trees in hopes of inspiring people to give to those in need.

The Portsmouth Herald reports that after selling more than 1,500 trees at Lafayette Plaza, the club is now giving away its remaining stock of trees and wreaths. The public is invited to take the remaining trees and deliver them to someone who could use a holiday gift.

Money from the tree sales helps fund scholarships and grants to nonprofit organizations.
