Portsmouth Rotary Club feeds hundreds on Thanksgiving
PORTSMOUTH- Hundreds of families in need in the Seacoast area enjoyed a hot meal this Thanksgiving thanks to an annual dinner put on by the Portsmouth Rotary Club.
Organizers say they had more than 150 people sit down and eat with them, and more than 250 pickup take-out orders. Their dozens of volunteers were busy all week preparing. They say Wednesday night's snowstorm had many more people coming through their doors for dinner.
The event is sponsored by Portsmouth Regional Hospital. The rotary club has put on this dinner for 40 years. They say they have a lot of help. Organizers actually had to turn volunteers away this year.
