Portsmouth prepares for 9/11 wreckage to arrive Wednesday
PORTSMOUTH - Officials in Portsmouth are preparing for the delivery of World Trade Center wreckage that will serve as the centerpiece of a permanent 9/11 memorial.
On Wednesday, a 8-foot steel beam will be escorted into Portsmouth through Market Square before going on display in front of the Portsmouth police department.
The World Trade artifact was awarded to Portsmouth after a five-year battle to obtain the wreckage.
