Portsmouth Police look for Market Basket armed robbery suspect


PORTSMOUTH - The Portsmouth Police Department are looking for a man, they say, robbed the Market Basket on Lafayette Road Monday night.

Police say the man, described as stocky, white and approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall walked into the grocery store around 8:40 p.m. and approached the Customer Service desk where he showed a gun and demanded money.

After received a unspecified amount of money he exited the store on foot. No one was injured.

The suspect is considered armed and dangerous.
