Portsmouth man charged with stealing items from people he knew

PORTSMOUTH - A local man has been charged with stealing jewelry, wooden doors and a printer from two people he knew.

Police said Richard Tidwell, 51, of 8 Gosling Road, gave himself up to police after learning there was a warrant for his arrest for thefts that took place between March and June.

Tidwell was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to be arraigned in the Portsmouth District Court on Sept. 21.
