Portsmouth man arraigned in domestic violence, suicide by cop incident

PORTSMOUTH - A Portsmouth man was arraigned in Portsmouth Circuit Court Monday morning after he lead police into a standoff situation in Dover and was arrested on domestic violence charges.

George Rinalducci was charged with Simple Assault and Violation of a Protective Order after he allegedly assaulted a woman and then tried to contact her via cell phone.

Portsmouth Police advised Rinalducci to turn himself in but he told police they would have to shoot him first. He then led police to a standoff situation in Dover where he was eventually arrested by the Seacoast Emergency Response Team.

During the investigation officers found Rinalducci was an avid marksman and a gun collector. Because of this information, a judge ordered his firearms confiscated. Rinalducci is being held at the Rockingham County Jail on $5,000 cash bail, pending trial in November.
