Portsmouth Fire Department answers more than 500 service calls in August


PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Fire Department has released information on the amount of service calls they experienced in August.

According to Fire Chief Steve Achilles, the firefighters answered 513 calls for service in August. Out of the 513 calls, 364 of them were for ambulances.

Of the ambulance calls, 341 were in Portsmouth, 11 were in New Castle, and 12 were for mutual aid.
