Portsmouth declares a snow emergency
PORTSMOUTH - Portsmouth declares a snow emergency and a parking ban.
The ban goes into effect Saturday Feb. 14 at 8:00 p.m. and a Downtown Georgraphical ban will go into effect at 1:00 a.m.
No vehicle will be allowed to park on any city street during the ban, any car left will be ticketed and towed.
Streets within the Downtown Geographical Area ban:
-Deer Street on the Noth
-Marcy Street on the east
-Court Street on the South
-Bridge Streets on West
-State Street (Middle to Marcy)
-Pleasant Street (Court to Congress)
-Custom House Court
-Market Street (Congress to Deer)
-Hanover Street (Bridge to Market)
-Islington Street (from Maplewood Ave to Brewster Street)
If storm conditions intensify, the snow emergency parking ban may be declared for the Downtown Geographical area.
Residents can park at the Hanover Garage during the ban, up to two hours after the ban has been terminated for $3.00.
