PELHAM - A one-car crash closed down a popular street in Pelham on Tuesday afternoon and into the evening.
The driver, a 26-year-old woman from Hudson who hasn't yet been identified, did not suffer any major injuries - but her car struck a mailbox and a utility pole, snapping it in multiple spots.
"It was definitely a solid smashing impact," said Bob Hague, who lives nearby. "It was no problem hearing it even though I was inside the house."
Old Bridge Street remained closed at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Investigators are looking at distracted driving as a possible cause.
No charges had been filed as of Tuesday evening.
