Poll: Ayotte slightly ahead of Hassan in NH Senate race

DURHAM - A new poll puts Republican Sen. Kelly Ayotte slightly ahead of her Democratic challenger, Gov. Maggie Hassan, in New Hampshire, though few voters have made up their minds.
In the latest poll, 45 percent of likely voters say they'd pick Ayotte if the election was held today, compared to 41 percent for Hassan. But only 19 percent say they've definitely decided who they'll back in November.
Both remain popular with voters. Hassan's net favorability is 20 percent, while Ayotte's is 16 percent.
The telephone poll of 628 likely voters was conducted Feb. 20 through Feb. 28 by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center and had a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3.9 percentage points.
