Police: Woman breaks beer mug on man's head during argument in Manchester


MANCHESTER — A woman is facing felony assault charges after breaking a glass beer mug on a man's head during an argument.

A large crowd was shouting in front of the Shaskeen Bar on Monday at about 12:26 p.m., according to police. An officer noticed a man's face and shirt covered in blood, and several people shouting that the woman responsible was running away.

Michael Ware, 38 of Manchester, reported having a disagreement with a woman and the woman's roommate, when the woman struck him on the side of the head with a beer glass.

Ware was transported to the hospital by ambulance with several face lacerations.

Melissa Thompson, 26 of Manchester, was spotted a short distance from the bar. Thompson admitted to the assault and was arrested for second degree assault.
