Police warn NH parents after man tries to lure high school girl into car in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD - Police are searching for a man they said tried to lure a high school girl into his car on Thursday morning.

A high school student was in her driveway in the area of Crescent Street when a car passed her, turned around and asked her where Pittsfield Middle High School was, they said. When she described it, he said it would be easier if she showed him by getting in the car with him.

The man was driving a dark green four-door car - possibly a Chevrolet. He was described as a man in his 40s or 50s and tall with long hair a scruffy facial hair.

He did not take physical action with the girl, but police are still looking for information. They're asking for parents to take notice as school starts up.

If anyone has seen the vehicle in the area, officials asked that they please contact the Pittsfield Police Department at 603-435-7535.
