Police: Violent gang member on the run captured in Manchester

CONCORD — A fugitive gang member with a violent history was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

Jose Gonzalez, 39, was wanted on an outstanding federal arrest warrant for supervised release violations. He was on supervised release as a part of his conviction and sentence for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.

Gonzalez was featured as the "Fugitive of the Week" on April 20, which produced tips of his whereabouts. Several tips said that he was staying at an apartment on Calef Road in Manchester.

When police approached the apartment, Gonzalez came outside and surrendered when he realized the house was surrounded and he could not escape.

Gonzalez was transported to the U.S. District Court in Concord for processing and holding until his court appearance Monday afternoon.
