Police: Utility workers are from a real company

MANCHESTER - Police say that reports of people suspected of posing as utilities workers are unfounded. The people work for Direct Energy, a legitimate company.

Police also say Direct Energy has a state permit to solicit.

The company is not fraudulent, and police are advising that residents who are not interested in Direct Energy's services should simply turn the workers away.

Police say they have been "inundated" with calls from concerned residents.

For more information about Direct Energy, visit the company's website.
