Police: Stratham man, 25, arrested for robbing mother's home of $10,000


SALISBURY, Mass. - Police arrested a man hiding out in his girlfriend's car after getting reports that he had robbed his mother last month.

According to seacoastonline.com, Robert Merrill Jr., 25 of Stratham was arrested last week by Epping police after being searched for by multiple police departments. He allegedly broke into his mother's house in Salisbury, Mass., on Jan. 29.

Police said Merrill was charged with robbing his mother for a total of $10,000 - taking $7,000 in cash and $3,000 in savings bonds from her home.

He was arraigned Friday in Newburyport District Court on charges of breaking and entering daytime for a felony, larceny over $250 and larceny from a building.
