Police seeking armed suspect in Franklin bank robbery

FRANKLIN - Police are looking for a suspect in the armed robbery of the Franklin Savings Bank on Upper Central Street on Friday morning.

Police say the assailant entered the bank around 9:40 a.m. brandishing a hand gun and demanding that the teller give him money.

The man is described as roughly 6-feet tall, thin, Caucasian, wearing a black hooded sweat-shirt, sweat pants, purple latex gloves and carrying an orange drawstring big. The suspect was also wearing a plastic mask.

Witnesses described the getaway vehicle as an older model 4-door Jeep, olive green in color, speeding away from an adjacent parking lot.
