CLAREMONT — Police responded two burglaries on Wednesday, which they strongly believe are related to one another based on proximity in timing and location.
The first burglary occurred at the T-Bird Mini Mart on Charlestown Road at about 3 a.m. where they found a side glass door shattered, and several cartons of cigarettes stolen from the store, police say.
Officers did not locate anyone on the scene.
Police said that the initial investigation revealed camera footage of someone breaking in for a short period of time and then leaving through the same smashed door.
The suspect is believed to have been headed north toward the Subaru dealership. He was described to be wearing a hooded sweatshirt, inside out, with the hood covering his head.
Later that morning, police responded to the Head Start building at the intersection of Charlestown Road and Kinney Place for the second burglary.
Responding officers learned that someone broke into the building and rummaged through a number of offices. They believe a small amount of cash was stolen.
The Claremont Police Department continues to actively investigate both incidents.
Anyone who may have information about either of these incidents is encouraged to call the Claremont Police Department at 603-542-9538.
