Police say texting while driving causes Bedford Tolls crash

BEDFORD - Texting while driving caused a car crash at the Bedford Tolls.

Saturday, March 14 at approximately 11:00 a.m. Tropper Stephan Sloper responded to a car crash on the Everett Turnpike at the Beford tolls.

Police said Tyler Martel, 21 of Manchester, was driving a white Volkswagen Jetta and came to a stop in order to pay the toll at the Bedford Toll Plaza. Officials also said Wayne Graham, 33 of Manchester, drove his black Jeep Cherokee into the rear end of the Volkswagen resulting in the crash.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene and no injuries were reported. They also said both operators were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

Officials determined distracted driving was the cause of the crash and Graham was cited for texting while driving.
