SALEM – A Pittsfield man was arrested Wednesday after officers witnessed a drug deal, Salem police said.

Leonard Deane, 55, was charged with one count of sale of a controlled drug and transporting drugs in a motor vehicle after he allegedly was seen exchanging crystal meth for cash.

Salem officers arrested Deane when officers said they observed Deane engaged with two men and pass a small plastic bag full of crystal meth to the men.

Deane was arraigned Thursday in court and his bail was set to $10,000.
